Dr. Eric Strand

An eight year Marine Corps veteran, Dr. Strand discovered acupuncture as a last resort when recovering from a military related injury. He has since dedicated his life to the practice of medicine; a doctor to all - a healer to many. In recent years he has turned to SCUBA diving as a meditation aid in his quest for ultimate peace. His experiences and travels abroad impact not only his writing style, but his passion for life and medicine.

After so, SO many years I finally made it to the mothership. I literally peed next to Sammy. This is the most excellent way to cap of a week of diving in Cabo San Lucas. Thank you to the Spartan Dive Team for making this happen, and thank you Sammy and Michael for keeping the music alive.

The way this fish is looking at the chain is exactly how intensely the Spartans have been staring at their countdown clocks.

In less that 24 hours your Spartans will be going to Cabo to test a new dive site. If all goes well it will be an excursion we will offer to everyone in the community.

Don’t worry, we make sure the shop and the sites are epic before we take everyone on an adventure.

If you’ve ever tried to build something under water you already know how much planning is required. Most of our park build pre dive plans look a lot like this. Here’s Doc and Aidian testing to see what it will take to move this tire to a new home in the park.

It always looks like very small moves until one dive assembles all of the work that’s been done. It’s a sometimes slow but always rewarding process.

As a side note, it was originally Midnight and Snowball until I found them staring straight at the cedar fence, occasionally pecking at it, trying to figure out how to get to the other side with the rest of the chicks… while the gate was wide open! 🤦🏼‍♂️

And just like that Spartan Scuba is 1 year old. We know, we can’t believe it either.

The past 365 days has been filled with many firsts and we’re sure there are many more to come. Switching from providing scuba services as an independent contractor to providing those same services for your own shop comes with some learning curves.

We look forward to growing from what we have learned in this first year. Everything from increasing our dive community, helping the industry thrive, and to continue providing exceptional scuba diving services and experiences.

It wouldn’t seem right if we didn’t add in one more first to round out the year. Today marks the first Spartan Scuba annual birthday dive-a-q. Each year, on September 1st The Spartans will put on an event currently including diving and a birthday T-Shirt collectors item. On future years, keeping with Spartan style the event will develop and grow; trying to be better each year than the year before. If the hint above wasn’t enough we will be bbq-ing next year. 🥳
