What do you do after dive number 1,000? Dive numbe

What do you do after dive number 1,000? Dive number 1,001, of course. So many people are hung up on a number, and I’ll admit that 1,000 dives has been my goal for a LONG time. But nothing changes except perhaps the logbook and the number.
.
I’ve dived with people who have “thousands” of dives who can’t stay off the bottom or think hands are for “swimming under water”, and others who have a handful of plunks and dive like a champion. The point is this… there is NO point. It’s all just diving. Whether one or a hundred, 500 or a 1,000, you are the WAY you dive and not how many.
.
That being said, I’m still proud of my accomplishments, grateful for the people I’ve met and dived with along the way, and for all the lessons learned.
